Always a Witch

Always a Witch (Witch, #2)Always a Witch by Carolyn MacCullough

My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Carolyn MacCullough

I was really sad to see this story end. I was really hoping for a couple of more stories from the Greene family. The story starts off with the ending of Once a Witch Tasmin Greene getting ready for her sister Rowenda wedding. Tasmin is the Keeper of the Domain and after a attack on the house to save her family and the future Tasmin is forced to go back to the past to fix what will harm the future. Tasmin alone goes back to nineteenth century to warn her family of what the Knight family is doing and to prevent Alistar to get the Domain that he has been trying to get. It takes awhile for Tasmin to get what she needed and Alistar showing up made things hard for her but the ever clever Gabriel shows up and Tasmin really can't do anything without Gabriel she should have realized she needed him from the begaining. Always a Witch was a quick read for me and I was sad for Tasmin and her Talent but the ending just felt a little to rushed for me I wished the ending was a little different then the way it went. I do recommend the book but wished for more out of it.

Description of the book from goodreads
The entire school's talking about the gorgeous new math teacher, Mr. Beck. Everyone except Kaylee Cavanaugh. After all, Kaylee's no ordinary high-school junior. She's a banshee—she screams when someone dies.

But the next scream might be for Kaylee.

Yeah—it's a shock to her, too. So to distract herself, Kaylee's going to save every girl in school. Because that hot new teacher is really an incubus who feeds on the desire of unsuspecting students. The only girls immune to his lure are Kaylee and Sabine, her boyfriend's needy ex-girlfriend. Now the unlikely allies have to get rid of Mr. Beck…before he discovers they aren't quite human, either.

But Kaylee's borrowed lifeline is nearing its end. And those who care about her will do anything to save her life

What I thought of the book:
Rachel really put me in shock with this book. I mean yeah I knew that one day Kaylee name would come up on the list to die but I was thinking not for many years however when she is still young I still think there is someone behind it big time I think maybe we will find that out but not in this story. I figured a Demonic Teacher would should up and do some damage but an Incubus just for a child and trying for male one I mean not even human pregancies cannot guarantee a male child unless you pay for a doctor to make that happen. This Incubus had to be really crazy or out of his mind to try that in the same school with girls that all went there without some other etity not figuring it out. At this school I don't know with all the Netherworld activity going on thru out the town I know the school seems to be a hot spot but it is like there is a beacon on the school for all Demonic creatures to go to the school. I figure once Kaylee graduates will calm down the attacks or will they just follow here where ever she goes. Sabine still wanting Nash OMG really girl get over it if you don't get the hint that Nash really loves Kaylee then you really are not as smart as I gave you credit for! I know she has gone thru alot in her life but all she is really doing is causing damage to Nash but I guess the saying you hurt the one you love is true. I really wanted to slap Sabine in this one just because of her pushing and pushing until Kaylee finally hurt Nash causing him to run to frost addiction is a frisky one I have seen it for myself but at the end of the day it is a mind game if your weak then you let it become an addiction and cannot push past it until you realize you have a problem. Kaylee really does have alot on her plate her impending death date, Demonic Incubus Teacher, that is alot on a kid shoulders. I do give her credit to go to Sabine for help and to give her blessing with Nash that is true love to make sure the man she loves has someone to love him after she is gone. I still don't know what to think of Todd at this point I know he loves his brother and hey I knew he had thing for Kaylee but yeah that came out of left field for me also but knowing her expiration date was coming soon maybe it would be for the best for Nash to get over her by being with Todd. Kaylee is not going to ever trust Nash he has to many points against him. The end kind of left me confused on her what excatly her job is going to be but like I said maybe there was a reason her name came up in the first place. I know Nash will get over it and will not be mad at her but Harmony needs to step in a be a mom and remove Sabine out of the picture until Nash can get a grip on his Demons Breath issues. Rachel Vincent did a good job on If I Die I have been a big fan of the books and this was a twist I didn't even expect
